Whats the core feature this is about?
As it stands, if you want to automatically filter what kind of links / whom can insert links into a video player, you get the old “Only Trusted URL's”, which for most users gets turned off pretty quickly as it's massively inconvenient, “Always Ask”, so have to manually filter, every time a video gets played, and “Always Allow”, no filtering whatsoever. Which ignoring the whitelist because again, kinda pointless if you regularly watch private streams and files from here and there, you're left with “Zero filtering” or “Filter everything”.
Which, the lack of nuance makes it entirely purposeless as, unless you just don't want videos at all you're ultimately left with “Let anyone paste video links”, which defeats the purpose of the setting, as no one sane wants to “Scrounge to find the Video Player controls, hit a button, then get back to where they were”, EVERY TIME A VIDEO IS PLAYED.
What should be possible that currently is not with this feature? (What should be added?)
Thus, being able to vet the kind of person whom is allowed to playback links is fairly necessary.
Which, the point of a friends list is for people you at least like and/or think are well adjusted enough you want to have the ability to have them join you / share avatars with / etc. Having people you're friended with be trusted enough to play things you're ok with (and not constantly manually vet) while not letting any random Joe-Schmo dump things into the video player is sorely needed.
