No sound on steam deck

When I open games on my steam deck, I can't hear any sound from them. I tested opening a browser and putting a video but it didn't work either. The weird part is that I have an idle game always open on my PC, I could hear that game but only that game and nothing else. When I close that idle game, I can't hear anything

Check if your host has audio output selected to "Steam Streaming Speaker"

I did check this, it was on "Steam streaming speaker"

Have you tried the test speaker option in Windows settings? If that makes sound then it's something else affecting your other apps.

I solved this by going into sound settings:

All of my available output devices were set to 'Pro Audio' - I switched the ACP version from Pro Audio to Default

Anther possible solution:

Go to Setting --> Audio.

In Playback Devices find Rembrandt Radeon High Definition Audio Controller Pro and change it's Profile to 'off'

That fixed it for me.

Does anyone have any other solutions for this? Steam Remote Play works but Moonlight isn't outputting any audio for me with Steam Streaming Speakers as default

Probably your SteamDeck's audio config issue

Install pavucontrol on your deck and launch it in game mode to check

Since my last reply I resolved my own issue after reading an old reddit post: https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/comments/uisod5/no_audio_with_moonlight/

Turns out Moonlight was muted on Desktop Mode SteamOS. I had to run a stream on Moonlight, and then "alt+tab" out to unmute it in the task tray audio settings I found in the bottom right.

Using pavucontrol would've resovled that issue much quicker though.
