<tei:p>Both <tei:ref target="http://zotero.org/groups/2552746/items/NJFZRK23"><tei:bibl>Vetter 1953</tei:bibl></tei:ref> and <tei:ref target="http://zotero.org/groups/2552746/items/USHGF3E7"><tei:bibl>Giacomelli 1963</tei:bibl></tei:ref> adopted the suggestion proposed by <tei:ref target="http://zotero.org/groups/2552746/items/AS7ZIHVI"><tei:bibl>Thulin 1907</tei:bibl></tei:ref>. He suggested that line 1 and line 2 have to be considered as two different inscriptions, referring to two different burials. Thus the tomb was used in different stages for the burial of more than three deceased. <tei:ref target="https://www.zotero.org/groups/2552746/items/84FQ2UI4"><tei:bibl>Bakkum 2009</tei:bibl></tei:ref> proposed the translation 'the tomb of Gavius Pavicius, Lucius' son' for this inscription, although he was not completely sure about that because of the awkward syntax of the inscription. Alternatively, he suggested that the inscriptions (Bakkum 11 and 12) could be divided into two (respectively 'cauio pauiceo' and 'uolti teti locies cela') but this suggestion does not include the epigraphical differences between the two inscriptions</tei:p>
