- I am a developer (but not yet for Chemotion) / I assist ELNers with Chemotion and desired features
Expected Behavior
Using the "import collection as zip" feature, it should:
- display a message saying "we received the file and are processing it" (I don't know the exact phrasing, but it's this idea).
- import the collection and make it available.
Current Behavior
- No message is displayed after importing the zipped Collection, even to say it failed
- No message is logged in any container indicating what is going on (or at least I was not able to find them)
- The collection is not imported.
Failure Information
No information whatsoever. I checked the logs for all services: eln, worker, ketchersvc, db, spectra, converter, msconvert. Log files provided below. There is no error at all, as if nothing happened (which, in fact, is precisely what happened: nothing, and that is the problem). In the files, look from 2026-07-09 at 09:30. It is just a few minutes before I tried to import the Collection.
Chemotion does not display any information at all.
The Collection has at least 22k samples. Is it the source of the problem? What is the maximum items possible in an imported collection? How can I import such a collection otherwise?
Edit: I tried with a smaller collection, 2500 samples, to no avail. Still no information from Chemotion on whether the import succeeded or failed.
Edit 2: I tried with as low as 400 samples, and it still fails! But it works with 350 samples.
Steps to Reproduce
Detailed steps for reproducing the issue:
- Have a collection of 22k+ samples to export.
- Export it --> you get a zip file.
- Delete the collection in Chemotion (optional)
- Import the zipped collection again.
- The collection is not imported.
