[Bug] Notifications are not displayed for new assets or activity

Describe the bug
When new assets or activity are retrieved from the server notifications are now longer displayed.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Upload an asset to a shared album
2. Login to album share with another user and let the new asset get fetched
3. The new asset is inserted into the library but nothing else happens.

Expected behavior
A background notification should pop-up if the app is closed or an in-app notification if the app is in the foreground.
