Connect Me Tutor Portal

The internal web application powering Connect Me, the largest student-run free online 1-on-1 tutoring service in the United States.

About Connect Me

Connect Me is the United States' largest student-run free online 1-on-1 tutoring service, founded in 2020. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization registered in Michigan, Connect Me pairs K-8 students with trained high school and college volunteer tutors to make personalized learning accessible for all. Through individual sessions and school partnerships, students are matched with tutors based on availability, subject needs, and grade level. Sessions occur at least once per week and are conducted virtually.

Awards and Media

Connect Me has been recognized with NBC's "Making a Difference" Award (2021) and the National Society of High School Scholars "Be More" Grant (2024). The organization has been featured on USA Today, Fox News, NBC, ABC, WXYZ Detroit 7, FOX 2 Detroit, Long Island Press, and dozens of other national and local outlets.

About This Portal

This portal serves as Connect Me's internal operations platform, built to support the organization's rapid growth. It enables the leadership team to manage tutoring sessions, pairings, and volunteer hours at scale while giving tutors and students tools to manage their own experience.

Tutor and Student Features

  • Dashboard, overview of pairings, upcoming sessions, and key information.
  • Session Exit Form, submitted by tutors after each session to automatically log volunteer hours.
  • Session Rescheduler, identifies available times and generates Zoom links for rescheduled sessions.
  • Notifications, automated email reminders for upcoming tutoring sessions.
  • Questions and Concerns Form, routes inquiries directly to the appropriate team member.
  • Resources, curated academic materials selected by the Connect Me team.

Administrator Features

  • Sessions Schedule, full calendar view of all active tutoring sessions.
  • Tutor and Student Dashboards, searchable interfaces for managing all users.
  • Volunteer Hours Dashboard, filterable by week, month, and all time.
  • Pairing Management, tools for reviewing and managing student to tutor pairings.
  • Enrollment Management, tools for overseeing active and inactive enrollments.

Multi-Profile System

Users can maintain multiple profiles under a single email address. This supports parents registering more than one student, as well as tutors who also enroll as students.

In Development

  • Worksheet integration within the Resources section.
  • Direct messaging system for tutor and student communication.
  • Automated pairing engine that suggests optimal tutor matches for incoming students.
