2294 | I do actually have some further questions. I believe the article is clarifying that the plan data available via CDR is not in the same format as EME use for their internal operations, which is how they use it to provide plan comparison to consumers. They also provided the generic plan data via CDR as defined by the CDR specifications. Does this mean that actual real life plans from retailers are available through the CDR, which would allow developers to basically create their own version of the EME website, or are they only generic plans which means you could not actually compare all the available plans in the Australian market (that were relevant to a particular customer)? |
The information provided by EME via CDR is generic plan information, provided to them by retailers. These are real plans that retailers have available in the market. The endpoints via which you access these are "un-authenticated" non-consumer endpoints and can be accessed by anyone. The specific endpoints are - Get Generic Plans - Get Generic Plan Detail You can, via CDR, get consumer account/plan information (i.e. the plan they have currently signed up for with a retailer). However, those are authenticated endpoints which require the consumer to consent sharing of their data. These requests can only be made by an ADR (Accredited Data Recipient). The specific endpoints are: - Get Energy Accounts - Get Energy Account Detail You could use the information to provide a service, such as plan comparison and tailored suggestions to consumers. You can also find information about how to become and ADR here -https://www.cdr.gov.au/for-providers/become-accredited-data-recipient |
Attendees are invited to raise topics related to the Consumer Data Right that would benefit from the DSB and ACCCs' consideration.
