What happened?

I tried to use the ASCII text generator. And received the error:

This issue has been fixed in my fork, next-tools. I’ve verified that the ASCII drawer now renders and behaves correctly.

More generally, next-tools is a heavily refactored version of it-tools:

• Fully rebuilt UI with shadcn/ui for a cleaner experience
• Real i18n support, including translations inside individual tools
• Multiple long‑standing issues fixed, with ongoing maintenance

Thanks! @sharevb's fork is indeed excellent and currently has a wider collection of tools than mine.

next-tools is a more recent fork based on the original repository. The main difference is the UI philosophy:

• I rebuilt the interface using shadcn/ui to offer a cleaner, more modern look and feel.
• We are gradually adding new tools and migrating existing ones to this new design system.

It really comes down to preference:

• If you need the most tools available right now, their fork is the better choice.
• If you prefer a modern UI style and a fresh visual experience, feel free to try next-tools!

I think willjayyyy is just another AI Bot. There are way too many of these around right now in pretty much every Platform.

It's not a real Fork (cannot see previous contributions), huge initial Commit done by sheweijie in December 2025, etc.

I wouldn't trust it before proper Audit 👎.
