10.5.x and 10.7.x will be maintained a bit longer

Multiple enterprise customers have reported issues with 10.8.x, which added support for multi types. We therefore have decided to maintain 10.5.x and 10.7.x, a bit longer. Requests from paid sponsors would be prioritized when it comes to backports.
