This is an issue reported by an end-user:
The AnVIL Data Explorer portal it shows that I have access to dataset phs002206. However, I have some unclarities/questions:
- While the number of files for the dataset shown on your portal as per the screen shot below (110.3k) is in agreement with the count of files in the manifest (110,294), the combined size of the files based on the manifest (459.88 TB) is greater than what is shown on the portal (418.26 TB).
I have confirmed that the total file size from the manifest is 459.88 TB.
The issue is 459.88 TB = 418.258 TiB.
While updating the units may be the easiest thing to do, I don't think most users understand the difference between TiB (1024^3) and TB (1000^3). My recommendation is to display the value in TB and not TiB.
