Corpus Callosum Segmentation

Hello, does FastSurfer currently support segmentation of the corpus callosum? It should be segmented and instantiated instead of just showing it as white matter. Looking forward to your reply, thank you very much!

Hi, sure, FastSurfer creates the CC the same way as FreeSurfer does: It is segmented in the mid-slices of the brain (5 slices). This requires finding the mid-plane first, which is why it is not part of the neural network but instead happens currently in the surface module.

We have finished our own CC Segmentation approach with better separation of the CC and fornix, high-resolution support, as well as lots of shape tools for thickness, curvature and sub-segmentation. The paper is under review and the methods will be integrated into FastSurfer in one of our next releases. Depends a little also on the review process which is - as usual - pretty slow.
