Are classic netgames (like InstaReap, etc.) welcome to be added to the source tree?

Over the years I have collected the source code of some netgames (InstaReap, for example). Since all netgames that aren't included with D3 are now incompatible with newer builds, would you integrate those netgames into the D3 source tree if I provided working versions of those?

I don’t know if they would be welcome or not, but I think that this is a really good idea. It would make it much easier to host and join servers that run those game modes.

Yes it is welcome! No problem to host netgames in our the source tree and distribute them, as long as the license matches ours.

Thank you for the reply :) The mods I got are all licensed under the Outrage license, probably because people never changed the license notes that were shipped with the SDK, which might be an issue? If that's the case I can try rewriting the mods from scratch.

Unfortunately I don't think we can consider this GPL-compatible. Rewriting them would be an option, let us know if you need assistance!

I think your best bet is to fork the repo and add the sources, get them to build, and then open a PR.
