Seamlessly share saves between Steam and Goldberg

Hello, I'm wondering if there is a recommended way to make sure Goldberg uses the same save data as my online profile, so I can start a game on Steam and continue where I left off offline with Goldberg ideally. Would simply changing the steam id and username to my real one be enough? On Linux, would setting the wineprefix to the one Steam uses for each game work as well?

I had some success with this in the past on the original Goldberg with Elden Ring, but even then I had to run a save manager and manually transfer the save over one time, but then it worked indefinitely after that. I forgot what I did exactly.
