GBE_FORK with Forza.Horizon.6-RUNE?

Has anyone successfully applied the gbe_fork or gse_fork emulator to the Forza.Horizon.6-RUNE release to enable achievements?

I noticed that the RUNE crack does not replace steam_api64.dll. Instead, it modifies a bunch of other files and places a steamclient64.dll inside a Steam subfolder.

I tried replacing the original steam_api64.dll with the one from gse_fork and dropped the steam_settings folder into the game directory, but the game either refuses to launch or starts for a brief moment, then hangs – and that only happens if I keep RUNE's own .ini config file in place.

A coldclientloader setup comes to mind, but I'm not entirely sure if that kind of workaround will play nicely with this particular crack.

Has anyone managed to get it working? Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
