Can't IMPORT an EXPORTED variable when its name contains '_'

Describe the bug
I'm trying to Import the files from a previously exported dws.

      ]link.import C:\foo\contact_DE.vec.apla
ERRORS ENCOUNTERED: ⎕SE.Link.Import: Source file defines "contact", rather than "contact_DE"

Apologies - this involved Classic where problems are to be expected when "_" is involved (according to the doc). I had missed that.

If you are still using the pre-Unicode version of Dyalog known as "Classic": Link will work, but names which contain characters other than a-z, A-Z, 0-9 and _ will cause Link to create strange file names.
