Visual Studio is required only if you want to compile the project yourself.

Well, I just wanna view certain assets for now, such as models and textures. I thought I'd get to 'em by opening the .pak files somehow...

Now I'm trying to follow along with this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NlUaKLN83BA But when I try to open the .pak file with the Windows Batch file, "Extract-PAK", cmd skips all files and no new directory folder is created.

IN THE FOLDER WHERE THE UNPACKER.EXE IS LOCATED, YOU NEED TO HAVE A FOLDER NAMED Projects. In this folder, you must copy the .list file(s) of the game you want to extract...

In the folder where you have the Unpacker.exe, open a Command Prompt terminal.

In the Command Prompt, navigate to the location of the Unpacker.exe. If it was compiled correctly, it should be under something like ...bin\release.

In that location, type or paste the name of the unpacker (without the .exe), then press space, and then type the name of the game's .list file (RE2, RE3, etc.).
Just the name of the .list file — there's no need to add the .list extension.
Click space, then drag the .pak file into the terminal.
Click space again, then drag the folder where you want the extracted files to be saved into the terminal. And press Enter...

I get an error, "Unable to find ZSTD modules!" And I don't see a folder generated when I drag and drop the .pak file into cmd.

Unpacking these files and replacing the ones you already have (if any). They should be in the same folder as the Unpacker executable.
