Error for Stats Generation

Hi Pasan,

I tried now the first time on my new computer to process activPAL files with ActiPASS and while the processing works fine, the Stats Generation doesn't work, but gives me an error. Here the Batch Settings and the Crash log:

Any idea what I can do to make it work?

Hi Carina,
I think the version of ActiPASS you have used (2025.4.2) is a test version. Could you please try the released version 2025.4.1 (please see the email sent to all ActiPASS users on 2025-04-01). If you continue to experience this problem you can also try to delete ActiPASS configuration files inside C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\ActiPASS folder as seen below. Then ActiPASS will create those files again.

Thanks a lot. I'm working with the beta version to adapt the cadence thresholds for moderate and vigorous physical activity since I'm working with activPALs and children and the adult cadence thresholds are probably overestimating MVPA for this target group. I believe adapting the cadence thresholds is not possible in the 2025.4.1 version?

I deleted the config files, after that, the stats generation worked - but then I can not adapt the cadence thresholds. Attached is the config files I'm using, it's the one I downloaded from here - I only changed the cadence thresholds, nothing else: https://github.com/Ergo-Tools/ActiPASS/blob/main/conf/AktDetect_UI.conf

Do you have any other idea how I could get it to work while still adapting the cadence thresholds?

Hi Carina,
Most probably the test version I created has a bug. I think I have fixed this issue with stat generation now.

Please re-download the config file from https://github.com/Ergo-Tools/ActiPASS/blob/main/conf/AktDetect_UI.conf and edit relevant cutoffs and save to the ActiPASS cofig folder. Then download the new release candidate version of ActiPASS from the link sent via email..

Hi Pasan,

I worked with the beta version you shared with me a couple of weeks ago (ActiPASS 2025.06.2 Beta). As discussed previously, I want to adapt the cadence thresholds for children (125 and 155), but although I adapt it in the AktDetect_UI.config file, it looks like the they get overwritten with the original threshold values that you set for adults (100 and 130). We had this issue already a couple of months ago due to hardcoded values, see here:

Would it be possible to provide a version that doesn't overwrite the threshold values?

Hi Carina,
Config file should be named exactly ""AktDetect_UI.conf". Yours is named "AktDetect_UI.txt". When ActiPASS does not find a parameters config file, it just uses default values. Most probably that is the reason.

In my folder, it's a .conf file, but Github doesn't allow uploading that file type, which is why I changed the ending to .txt for uploading.

OK, yes, to upload certain file types to GitHub, I think we need to zip them first.

Anyway, I checked the file you uploaded by changing the extention back to ".conf" and it works as expected with the last release version to all ActiPASS users (which was the same as the release-candidate I sent you in July).

Only thing I can think of is that you are running ActiPASS in ProPASS mode, then ActiPASS will ignore almost all settings and algorithm parameters and will use defaults. If you see the ProPASS mode checkbox ticked in the main interface, then ActiPASS runs in ProPASS mode.

Hi again Carina,
I think, in order to avoid any inadvertent mistakes, ActiPASS should also save the algorithm parameters/cut-offs used for each and every batch. ActiPASS already does this for settings, but not for the parameters. I have added this feature to the development branch of ActiPASS. With this version we should see a new file named ActiPASS_BatchParameters.txt within each batch-folder.

If you want to give this version a try (no changes related existing features, and new features are hidden in the UI), see my separate email.
