Issue with ettercap causing err_refused_connection on target device

When i run a mitm attack on my target device (my pc) it causes the page being opened to fail to load. Sometimes gives refused connection error message. Im running ettercap on macos, target is windows PC. i looked for a fix for this, but could not find one. sorry if this question has already been answered somewhere else
