         In general use 2ch.
Is something adjusting the volume/mute of BlackHole? That’s a relatively common issue. Apps like Zoom sometimes do.
Is it an issue with Mic permissions?

Don't know what causes the system to trip out, but signal flow randomly stops coming into Logic. I usually have to quit the Logic session, shut down CleanFeed, turn the audio interface off and on again, and re-install the BlackHole 16 ch driver to get the audio flow back. And this doesn't always work. It's a complete hit or miss workaround.
When the drop out occurs, I can hear the incoming signal and see it on the meters in CleanFeed. However, there is no signal passing through the BlackHole 16ch device in LoopBack, so I know the issue resides here.
Is this a known bug that anybody else has experienced and is there a permanent solution?
 Thanks.

16ch isn’t less stable but sometimes other apps can only handle 2ch so I generally just tell people to use 2ch.
Check Logic Mic permissions. You’re going cleanfeed to logic. Right?
Also test recording BlackHole with audacity as a test. Something simple like YouTube > BlackHole > Audacity.

 Hey Devin.
Thanks for your input. Much appreciated.
 • Ideally, we need more than 2 remote inputs at the studio, so the 2ch alternative isn't really viable. Is the 16ch version known to be less stable? I also have the 64ch version as a device in the Audio MIDI setup. Could this be causing a conflict? I can't seem to remove it.
 • I'm not aware of any program adjusting the output of BlackHole. If Zoom is the problem, would it have to be active at the time to interfere and is there a solution if this is the problem child in the chain (i.e. potential audio settings in Zoom)?
 • No issue with microphone permissions. If this were the case, no audio would be coming into CleanFeed, which isn't the case here.
Any further thoughts and guidance would be great 🙏
 Thanks.

Audacity is open source, free and extremely basic. Pretty much no settings that can mess things up.
I guess you can try youtube to Logic. That will do the trick. I just default to saying Audacity.

Correct, we are running CleanFeed into Logic. The mic permissions are all active.
I'll give 2ch a go and see if the problem persists.
Regarding audacity, we don't use this program, so running a test isn't possible. Any reason why Audacity is being recommended?
 Thanks Devin.

Dude, it’s just a test to see if BlackHole having problems or something else.
And yes, Loopback is known to cause a whole bunch of audio issues including interfering with BlackHole.

 Ok.
The thing is, I can already route audio from YouTube into Logic via LoopBack without the need for BlackHole, so I'm struggling to understand the purpose of this test.
We use BlackHole in tandem with CleanFeed so that we can capture dedicated outputs from guests and feed them into individual channels in Logic for maximum flexibility.
Could LoopBack be causing the blockage? Just a thought.
 Thanks.

Just my own app Dipper. You can find it on the App Store.
But if you can narrow down the issue first.

Fair enough. I'll give it a test.
If LoopBack is known to cause a bunch of problems, it's probably a good shout to focus on this area of the chain.
 Any known solutions for LoopBack?
 Thanks.
