Panic Error 5

After a fresh intall on Ubuntu platform running the tractome command we obtrain the following diagnostic message:

thread '<unnamed>' panicked at /root/.cargo/registry/src/index.crates.io-1949cf8c6b5b557f/khronos-egl-6.0.0/src/lib.rs:1779:26:
called `Option::unwrap()` on a `None` value
note: run with `RUST_BACKTRACE=1` environment variable to display a backtrace
fatal runtime error: failed to initiate panic, error 5
Aborted (core dumped)

I tried with the new environment bulit upon native python3 system, e.g. by-passing the conda env.
The app start, but after the attempts to interact with the 3D canvas the app start to freeze and the console report the following message
WARNING:wgpu:Unrecognized present mode 1000361000
and there is no way to recover the control of the app, e.g. "app not responding"

Hi @Paolopost and @lvavassori

I researched on this issue with multiple pc and laptop running ubuntu 24.

The issue is the conda installation. the old conda installation has some library path incorrect which defaults to no-screen (As there are some path changes in ubuntu 24).

But, I can certainly say that if I use conda-forge a open-source version of the conda, The app runs smoothly.

One thing we can try is to have you create a conda environment with conda-forge channel

conda create -n my_app_env -c conda-forge python=3.11

That might be able to resolve the issue.

Although, I highly recommend switching to conda-forge as Anaconda is no longer free. Which can become problematic if they decide to change license to even stricter version.

Please let me know the result of the above command.

Also on the conda installed machines, please try this following command. If works as add it bashrc or zshrc file on the machine.

export LD_LIBRARY_PATH="$CONDA_PREFIX/lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH"
