Connetion issues after updating server from 1.6 to 1.7

Describe the bug

I have been playing on a server with friends. we started originally on 1.5.0 and have updated the server twice now over the last month as the newer versions have come out. The issue started after we updated to version 1.7.0. When we attempt to join the world we get kicked with the message:

"Connection Lost
The server send registries with unknown keys: ResourceKey[mincraft:sound_event / immersivemessages:vocalsynthlowshort], ResourceKey[minecraft:sound_event / immersivemessages:vocalsynthlow]"

By what I can see from the change logs, Immersive Messages was a mod that was removed and so we no longer have that loaded in the mod pack. So I don't know if that mod added items we received in game already via the "logs" from the quest that gives the custom sound records (my best guess by the names of the resources) or something else.

Steps to reproduce

1. Had a server that was 1.6.0 or 1.6.1
2. Update server to 1.7.0
3. Log into server
4. get kicked

Expected behaviour

A fix so that we can continue out playthough of the mod pack

How did you update the server? If you check your mods folder on the server, do you still see the Immersive messages mod jar? Because that shouldnt be there anymore as it was removed in 1.7.0.

The one who is paying for the rented server checked all the files and .jar to make sure there wasn't any of the immersive message stuff. To my understanding there wasn't any. He tried out a few more things, I don't know what else he did, but eventually he backed up the server and reinstalled the mod pack and put the data back so that we had no loss in progression.

So we now are able to continue. Still have no clue what caused the issue but its fixed.
