Better support for waterways - vehicles, maps, routing

Hi,
while adding some more routes, I noticed that the current state for waterway routes is somewhat limited (which I completely understand 😉 ).
Nevertheless I would ask if there might be some usefull features for future releases that might cover the needs for guests near the sea or lakes:

• adding more vehicles - canoe, SUPs, sail ship, ...
• background maps: Would a partnership with OpenSeaMap or waterwaymap be a opportunity to get a map stile focused for water activities? The first one has also a (limited) approach to collect crowdsourced depths / bathymetry together with OpenDEM.info
• routing - Well yes this is a highly experimental features, due to the shape focused nature of nautical navigation. But at least for canoe on lakes etc. I had pretty good results with the OSMand app. Maybe it's worth a try for a water focused routing protocol?

I see that this is pretty big and complex topic, but I loved to outline how (IMHO) things fit together 😃

to jump onto this, it would be good to extend this to 1. packrafts 2. white water.

The difference between packrafts and other water vehicles is, that a packraft trip involves multiple modes of transportation, in the simplest way a walk-in on land, followed by the actual packrafting, and potentially a walk-out. It would be great if all segments could be part of the same trail, but visually made different, to differentiate between which parts are on land and which ones are on water

A river often has multiple sections with varying levels of difficulty (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_scale_of_river_difficulty). It would be great if the different sections could be highlighted (this should be a manual task, as there is no database to get this information from) in different colours, to make it obvious how difficult a river is. If some extra text could be added to a segment, to more accurately describe that section, this would be helpful as well, but otherwise could also just be part of the general description of the trail. For the latter a way of linking segments to the trail description would make it unambiguous which segment is referred to.
