Project Deprecation and End of Maintenance

Hey community!

After careful consideration, I'm announcing the deprecation of this project and the end of maintenance effective March 1, 2025. This decision stems from three key factors:

• Life got quite busy for me (personally and other more interesting side projects)
• Quality issues → the plugin has faced persistent performance issues, particularly with large vault synchronization or the icon rendering stability
• Not an active user of Obsidian anymore → having moved away from active Obsidian usage, I've lost the essential context needed for meaningful development and quality improvements

This has been an incredible journey watching Iconize evolve from a simple tool to a community-adopted solution. While proud of our progress, I recognize the project suffered from overextension in feature scope, inadequate optimization for core functionalities, and insufficient resources for sustained quality control.

What's next?
On March 1, 2025, all issues and pull requests will be disabled for this project, and the repository will be officially marked (in the README file) as not maintained anymore. However, the codebase will remain public under an MIT license for community forks or derivative works. Maybe I'll also work on the plugin again in the future.

Sure, I was moving to Craft a couple of months ago, and I am pretty much in love with the UI / UX experience. Although there are some safety concerns, I am not saving any highly personal notes in my knowledge base. I was also looking for an all-in-one editor (flashcards + notes), but the only editor I've discovered was Remnote (the UI on mobile is quite bad D). But, for now, I am using Craft + Anki.

Hello, what I was frequently using was the icons within the notes as additional "images" / "symbols" by typing them within special characters. Really liked that.
I looked, but Iconic doesn't have this feature does it? This would basically completely sufficient for me :D

Unfortunately iconize is no longer compatible with meta-bind (icons for tabs within notes fail to display).
