windows defender detect the virus at AoE4_Overlay.exe

Hi,

My windows defender delete AoE4_Overlay.exe every time.
Windows defender detect Trojan:Win32/Wacatac.H!ml.

Could you check the release file?
I check the online virus check service. Some site say it has problem.

Defender has been very talkative lately. I don't see any malice in the exe and its a false positive. Here are the steps I took to exclude it. I made a folder exclusion for all of AoE4_Overlay:

1. Select Start , then open Settings . Under Privacy & security , select Virus & threat protection.
2. Under Virus & threat protection settings, select Manage settings, and then under Exclusions, select Add or remove exclusions.
3. Where to add an exclusion in the Windows Security app.
4. Select Add an exclusion, and then select from files, folders, file types, or process. A folder exclusion will apply to all subfolders within the folder as well.

Are you sure it's safe?

Firefox refuses to download it unless forced, windows deletes the .zip, then deletes your extraction, then stops you running the exe. It's a lot of steps, and multiple trojan warnings (with different names) for something supposedly safe!

If a browser is denying a download when it says there is a virus detected in Microsoft Edge, I don't believe there is a false positive here as I've never encountered issues with downloading zips that contain a exe. I would do a thorough check on your latest release because it's very suspicious.

Hi.
I developed a similar overlay (RTS Overlay) based on similar libraries and also started to have many people receiving false positives from their antivirus in the last months, despite having the project open for 1.5 years without issue (and I did not update the libraries).
(FYI, the BO part of AoE4 Overlay comes from RTS Overlay: I ported it from RTS Overlay to AoE4 Overlay with the help of @FluffyMaguro ).

I suspect some antivirus started to be way more cautious when dealing with zip packages containing exe files.

On RTS Overlay side, I added some instructions to use the overlay from python source files here. It is not difficult to do and several people already used it, even without programming knowledge.
I think similar instructions could be used for AoE4 Overlay.

However, I am looking at other solutions to make RTS Overlay easier to use, like maybe a web-based solution.
