Drag and Drop Copy

Feature description

It would be great to be able to drag-and-drop copy events in week view. E.g. by toggling a switch to move/copy events.

Why do you want this feature?

This would make organizing irregular recurrences of events much easier. It would help me with creating and customizing my weekly schedule, that unfortunately contains a lot of irregularities.

I would love this type of feature, but would need an option for a confirmation dialogue box so events don't gets copied / moved without realising it (and thus losing the initial informations).
eg : copy / move / cancel confirmation box

Yesterday, I tried to move an appointment from one day to another using drag and drop. The appointment was copied, and DAVx5 immediately reported a "bad request." Is this likely a bug?

To be honest, I hope that when this request is implemented, there will definitely be an option to choose whether to copy or move the appointment. Copying doesn't make sense to me.

I agree. Drag gestures are usually for moving items, not copying. There are other ways to create duplicate events like the duplicate button in the event editor or #579.

@naveensingh I think this should really be reconsidered. I have used a lot of calendar apps and the biggest issue in all those apps was the risk of accidentally moving items while scrolling the weekly view. It has happened to me and others I know repeatedly, especially because the weekly view doesn't only let you scroll horizontally, but also vertically. At one point, I have even missed a doctor's appointment because of it.

The suggestion by @val24 is by far the most elegant to prevent it and to make the drag and drop feature much more useful.

As soon as a drag operation ends, a dialog could show the following:

Title of calendar item
To: New timestamp
[Copy] [Move] [Cancel]
