Which apps should have this feature?

All Fossify Apps

Feature description

I propose we add an option to choose the font used by Fossify apps. I see it particularly useful on Launcher, but every app could benefit from it.

• Ideally, a "Choose font" button on Settings, would let us navigate our system and choose a font file we have in a folder.
• If not, it could at least let us choose one of the fonts already installed in our phone. We could install the font there first, I guess.
• I wouldn't like a list of fonts curated by Fossify or by anyone but me, the user. I want freedom to choose

Why do you want this feature?

Typography is a very powerful tool. Being able to choose the one the user wants, could:

• Help the visually impaired, people with dyslexia... There are lots of folks with wildly different needs, there's no single font that is readable for everyone
• Avoid truncated names by using a condensed font, which increases the number of visible characters in the same space without sacrificing their size
• Increase readability and aesthetics on different layouts (a crowded and a minimal Home screen would look better with different fonts)
• For any user, it would just give them a more personal UI, customized to their personality and taste, they'd feel more at home on their home screen (not sorry for the pun)
• I'm sure there are more use cases, this was just from the top of my head

Of course some users could make bad design choices, but they're easily reverted and, ultimately, it would be their choice and responsibility. We're not Apple users who want every decision taken for them, we're FOSS users, we take pride on choosing by ourselves.

• This would solve issue 101 (on Launcher section) much better than the solution proposed there
• I posted this feature request in that section first, but was told by @Aga-C to bring it here
