Have you tried obtaining the ARL after switching to the desired profile?

I'll be honest I don't have much in the way of resources to test or debug this. I don't have a Deezer account so I would either need to borrow your credentials or see if @Ectalite, the original account donor for the Deezer Source implementation, is willing to donate again and has a family account.

If you can find an example of another open-source project, or excerpt somewhere online, of someone getting ARL for a family account profile then that may be enough for me to emulate what they describe. I haven't had any success finding this. Otherwise you can temporarily donate your account to me to debug/develop with, email me ms @ foxxmd.dev

I did initially take the arl from the right profile, but this did not do the trick
I do not own the account so yeah I'm not really able to donate my credentials I'm sorry

I will try to find other projects where they might be able to choose a specific profile, but I'm not sure I will find
I'd appreciate any other help as well

Hi, sorry for the late response. I didn't have access to a family account until now. I reproduced the problem, after changing between profiles even if the ARL is changing, the content of the listening history is the same and reflects the one of the main profile. I will try to find a way to select the profile.

I just updated my minimal working example to accommodate this case.
You have to use the arl to get profiles IDs and then you are able to ask for song history with both arl and profile ID in cookies.
The issue that came up is that you will be able to see with arls of family members the IDs of other family members, but if one has a private account linked it will only show them their history with their arl and other family members arl won't be able to see their history. If the ID is still choosen, history send by deezer will reflect the default account.

So to make sure I understand the minimal example and what you've stated here:

• If no account_id is set in cookies then getSongsHistory will return history of user associated with used ARL
• Using getChildAccounts gets account_id for all linked accounts, even if a linked account is private
• Using account_id in cookies...
  • For a non-private account, will correctly return history with getSongsHistory
  • For a private account, will not return any history with getSongsHistory (or will return an error?)

It wasn't very clear, so I made 2 distinct cases:

• Using account_id in cookies from a non private account

  • For a non-private account, will correctly return history with getSongsHistory of the non-private account
  • For a private account, will return history of the main non-private account

• Using account_id in cookies from a private account

  • For a non-private account, will return history of the main non-private account
  • For a private account, will return history of the main non-private account

What happens if I try to use getChildAccounts on for an ARL that does not have a family account?

API responds with {"error":{"PERMISSION_ERROR":"No Permission"},"results":{},"payload":null}, so it's possible to just parse results and check its size.

Ohhh that is confusing! Is it possible to parse whether the main ARL account or accounts returned from getChildAccounts are private or not?

I didn't check for it, but there is a way to. In the response from getChildAccounts, you can read for each user
[results][<userNb>][EXTRA_FAMILY][IS_LOGGABLE_AS] which is a boolean and private would be false.
[results][<userNb>][EXTRA_FAMILY][IS_DELINKABLE] would also be an option I guess (true if private).
I don't think you can put a password on a child account so the only way IS_LOGGABLE_AS is false is by having a private account.

That means

using account_id in cookies when the ARL in use is from a private account

Correct?
