bug: Album artist "Various Artists" does not scrobble correctly when using MusicBrainz transformer

Describe the Bug

When using the MusicBrainz transformer, tracks with "Various Artists" as an album artist will simply replace the album artist field with the artist field. For example, a scrobble with this metadata:

Track: Rock It
Artist: Tokyo Machine
Album: Rocket League x Monstercat, Vol. 1
Album Artist: Various Artists

...will scrobble instead as:

Track: Rock It
Artist: Tokyo Machine
Album: Rocket League x Monstercat, Vol. 1
Album Artist: Tokyo Machine

This seems like unintended behavior, but if it is intended behavior, it's not documented anywhere. There was a comment in another issue similar to this that says this behavior might be intentional, but it's a little frustrating, and I guess I'm failing to see the reasoning for why you'd want this. If this is intentional, an option to disable it would be great.

Thanks for the report. Modifying the field is intentional but it should probably be more nuanced. As you found, some scrobblers do not like having Various Artists in the scrobble data. However, I think the behavior you are seeing is a bug...it should remove the album artist field entirely if the end result is that its either empty (After removing various artists) or is a identical duplicate of the artists field.

where are you seeing the scrobble data? Is it showing in MS logs as that or do you explicitly see album artist data in last.fm scrobbled data?
