[Bug]: segmentation fault on Ubuntu 26.04; Wayland-related

Describe the bug

On running freetube, it crashes and provides the following error messages:

85430:0429/101438.470787:ERROR:ui/ozone/platform/wayland/host/wayland_connection.cc:202] Failed to connect to Wayland display: No such file or directory (2)
[85430:0429/101438.470861:ERROR:ui/ozone/platform/wayland/ozone_platform_wayland.cc:281] Failed to initialize Wayland platform
[85430:0429/101438.470897:ERROR:ui/aura/env.cc:246] The platform failed to initialize.  Exiting.

I'm using Ubuntu 26.04 LTS, as installed yesterday. 24.04 LTS worked fine. I get an identical problem in signal, it may be an electron issue. signalapp/Signal-Desktop#7832

I'm using metacity + gnome flashback, not Wayland

Freetube runs without crashing

Definitely an Electron or Chromium issue, Ubuntu 26.04 was only release recently, so I'm not really surprised that there are compatibility issues, that being said please try forcing it to run in X11 mode by launching FreeTube with the --ozone-platform=x11 command line flag.

In that case it sounds like broken wayland detection in Electron or Chromium, I'm glad that flag works as a workaround.

Before I open a bug report upstream, could you please test the latest nightly build which is using a newer version of Electron just to check whether it is already fixed?: https://github.com/FreeTubeApp/FreeTube/actions/runs/25080285843

The nightly failed in the exact same way. Same error messages.
