Can't see what is actually being presented on the main screen anymore! :(

This happened to myself and my co workers today Thursday May 6th around 1:30 PM.

Goole Meet Grid View has been working like it normally has with my remote learning and Google Classroom for the past 4 months.

I can see all my students and often present tabs showing Youtube videos.

The youtube video presentation appears on within the grid of my students so that I'm able to view the video as it is being presented and give feedback to my students at the same time.

All that ended today.

I now get the black box that says "you're presenting" and thus cannot actually see what I'm presenting without flipping back and forth between the meeting and what I'm presenting via the tabs.

Software used:

• MAC OS Catalina 10.15.7
• Chrome Version 90.0.4430.93 (Official Build) (x86_64)
• Version [e.g. 22]:

Please get this back to how it was!

The good news is, Meet's new layout is being rolled out starting today, and it allows you to natively see what you're presenting (about time!). Bad news is, it looks like Grid View may not work properly - that is, the old menubar in Meet to which GV's menu was attached is no longer there, so you have to enable GV through the GV icon in the Chrome extension toolbar, but it looks like it doesn't resize properly (haven't had a Meet yet, so I'm not totally sure).

It seems that Grid View DOES work, but there's a bug (whenther GV or Meet, I'm not sure) where the video doesn't resize until a specific resize is triggered. That being when a side panel is opened or when someone else joins in Tiled mode. So, when you start using GV, it fills to the div's width with the video at the present size, which crops some of the video, but will eventually resize when triggered. Incidentally, which is why I think it might be a Google issue, this also happens when you turn OFF GV.

Interesting.... I got rid of the extension....tried it...

I added the extension again.... tried it...

Both times, nope... can't see what I'm presenting still. So I don't think the new one has "rolled out" yet for me.

The new Meet interface is all black instead of white frames, and everything is located at the bottom. If you don't see that, then it's not rolled out to you yet. :(
