What is the bug?

Recently updated XAU on my computer and it seemed to be working fine. Came home today to find the program is gone off my pc now so I went to redownload from here and now the .exe is showing up as malicious. Whats going on with it?

I'll tell you this with all due respect, but all unsigned desktop software (PC trainers, RGH trainers, save editors, mod injectors) will be detected by your PC as a virus. You have no option but to apply a rule to your antivirus to prevent it from deleting it. Ultimately, it's open source, and you can see that there's nothing unusual in the code, but it can't be legally signed when it's software that crudely modifies integral values ​​in games.

It's just very curious because it never showed as malicious before when I downloaded it

When an exe is downloaded a bunch (the old version was) and people keep excluding it microsoft is able to build a profile for it and realise that it isnt actually malicious. Every new release gets the spooky "this is a virus" warning but it does eventually go away.

The releases are now built directly on github from the source code rather than me compiling on own machine and uploading so they should be more trustworthy than before as what you see in the repo is exactly what you get in the exe
