Precompiled binary of the Windows GUI version only shows white screen

After installing pngsource from release and opening it up, it gives a static white screen instead of the intended main screen. (Windows 10 Ver. 20H2)

Thanks for reporting this. Obviously, not a great start!

Can you confirm that you have a recent Edge browser installed? I believe that on Windows this is where the webview will find its display component.

Upon further testing, I realize that I need to ask you whether you are running an aggressive antivirus. I just tried the GUI on a laptop running f-secure and it literally decided to freeze the program's access to its own resources.

I have Microsoft Edge ver 96.0.1054.62, which should be the latest version as of writing and I only use Windows Defender. It doesn't seem like Windows Defender is doing anything to prevent pngsource from loading though.

Make sense. I do not expect Windows Defender to be needlessly aggressive so that's not our issue.

I have been able to run the app on Windows 11 (stock) and Windows 10 (after asking f-secure to chill) but of course with Windows it's the endless configuration permutations that kill us.

If you don't mind (and I know it's not great being a beta tester for a relatively simple tool!) could you right-click the window, select "Inspect" then switch to the console tab, and report if anything alarming is displayed?
