Creating a https-only gin repo (without git+ssh url)

I haven’t looked very deep into the code but is there a specific reason for gin needing both `https` and `ssh` access to a server (unless of course there are further account restrictions)?
More specific: Is it possible to interact with a gin server only over https for firewall reasons?
