Ternary operator is malformed after Formatting

In some cases, statements containing ternary operators become malformed due to formatting. For example, the following code includes a backslash mark to break the line into two shorter lines

func _on_check_box_toggled(toggled_on: bool) -> void:
game_logic.human_side = Globals.ChessSides.WHITE \
if toggled_on else Globals.ChessSides.BLACK

After formatting, that code becomes as follows.

func _on_check_box_toggled(toggled_on: bool) -> void:
game_logic.human_side = Globals.ChessSides.WHITE \
if toggled_on
else Globals.ChessSides.BLACK

It seems it is currently not supported in that situation. Do you have other code snippets you could share by any chance? As you were saying it happens in some cases. It's really helpful to have multiple related code snippets, even if it's just the input snippets, I can run the formatter over them.

Could you also please tell me what output you expect ideally? Because the default behavior of the formator would be to take over the vertical wrapping and to remove the backslash and wrap everything back on one line with the default line length.

Ideally the pattern it would follow as max line length goes down is something like this with the current logic/formatting specification:

func _on_check_box_toggled(toggled_on: bool) -> void:
	game_logic.human_side = (
		Globals.ChessSides.WHITE if toggled_on else Globals.ChessSides.BLACK
	)

And if the maximum line length was extremely constrained, something maybe along those lines:

func _on_check_box_toggled(
	toggled_on: bool,
) -> void:
	game_logic.human_side = (
		Globals.ChessSides.WHITE
		if toggled_on
		else Globals.ChessSides.BLACK
	)

I am not sure what "should" happen with the formatting, but at a minimum I expect the resulting format not to break the code. The Godot editor flags the bottom two lines with the message "Expected 'else' after ternary operator condition." To make the script work, I have to revert the tabs and line breaks to the original configuration.

I don't have any other examples at this time, but here is a better representation of the original and the result.

Before:

func _on_check_box_toggled(toggled_on: bool) -> void:
	game_logic.human_side = Globals.ChessSides.WHITE \
	if toggled_on else Globals.ChessSides.BLACK

After:

func _on_check_box_toggled(toggled_on: bool) -> void:
	game_logic.human_side = Globals.ChessSides.WHITE \
			if toggled_on
	else Globals.ChessSides.BLACK

The latter is code breaking.
