feeds don't do anything

My bot's name is "bot"

set phabricator (up to date) to send it's http feeds to:
"http://hostname:8080/bot/phabs/feeds"

I can see it executing the http action (via hubot verbose) for changes in tasks, pushes, ie things that would arrive in the feed; but it's not doing anything with it, even set a feedall doesn't do anything. Am I missing something obvious? Is there a log option I can use?
