How to bypass Virtual Desktop's "not on same network" error?

I've set up gnirehtet on my quest 2, and while Virtual Desktop will connect to it fine, it says "not on same network" while connecting, and limits the speed to 60Mbits. Are there any commands or settings I can use to get Virtual Desktop to think it's the same network, or is there some other issue I don't understand? I use this USB cable with Link at 500Mbit easily, and on wifi I can get 250Mbit with Virtual Desktop, so its weird it would only allow 60 over the wire.

-Virtual Desktop checks whether the PC and Quest are on the same local network (LAN).
However, when you use gnirehtet, it sets up a virtual VPN interface on the Quest — so your PC and Quest are no longer on the
same subnet, and Virtual Desktop flags this with the "Not on same network" warning.

What the Warning Means
-Virtual Desktop still works, but it limits streaming quality to 60 Mbps due to latency optimization assumptions.
-It assumes a higher-latency connection, even though USB tethering might be fast.

Best Solution
-Use a USB-C to Ethernet adapter on the Quest 2 and plug into the same router or switch as your PC.
That guarantees same network, lowest latency, and no bandwidth cap by Virtual Desktop.

This doesn't seem to happen on the Q3? I don't use it anymore since Windows Hotspot works just as well for me, but when i did use it, i never had this issue. I was able to stream up to 600Mbps, but i often limited it to 200 just to keep it stable. Maybe this is a Q2 only problem? Are you using a USB 3 cable?
