Hardcore Hearts

What feature do you want to see added?

If a Geyser server has hardcore mode enabled, Bedrock players should be able to see their health as hardcore hearts instead of normal ones, since hardcore mode now exists in Bedrock Edition.

Also, currently, if a Bedrock player is in spectator mode on a Geyser server, from their perspective it looks like survival mode, but they can fly and move through blocks. This is akin to the preliminary spectator mode that has existed in Bedrock Edition for a while. Now that spectator mode in Bedrock Edition is fully developed, it should be utilised by Geyser.

There is a PR open for hardcore mode (#5216) which hasn't been merged yet. As explained there:

I don't think this should be merged for now as on Java if you initially join a world that's not on Hardcore and a proxy sends you to a world that is on Hardcore, this PR doesn't account for that as unfortunately it doesn't seem like it's changable after the StartGamePacket is sent. :/

The bedrock spectator mode functionality is currently not utilised by Geyser, because it doesn't support interacting with blocks/entities (for opening containers and the likes).

While we don't use the Bedrock native spectator gamemode (we did briefly, but it has, as eclipse mentioned, a few key downsides), we do try to hide all gui elements that aren't present on Java edition, such as health/hunger, air bubbles, and similar.

The latest build (773) should resolve some issues where the spectator hud didn't appear as expected

I just tested the latest build, and in spectator mode the hotbar is still visible. Is that possible to hide?

Unfortunately, we can't hide that :/
Well, we could use the Bedrock spectator mode, but with it, inventories cant be opener (nor is it possible to interact with entities, which will be important once we implement spectating)
