@UnixPhonez Bumping issues is not going to get a feature implemented or have the issue prioritised. If you want a feature quickly, you need to take the effort to implement it yourself or find someone who will for you.

Yes please add the search function to the pdf. I understand this wont accelerate implementation, but I wanted to add an extra vote if someone comes along that can perform the upgrade and has to choose between features to work on.

Hello, I just discovered this amazing app, and got suprised to see there's no search option, then i found this issue. Is there any update on this? Not trying to sound disgraceful or pitty or anything to developers who already done a lot, but 8 years of opened issue is crazy, and 3 years from last mention of it, that's not quickly at all, maybe close issue as not planned then? I really wish i don't have to move on other app just because of this crucial feature, as i like your app the most so far.

The (new?) PDF viewer in Vanadium supports search and vertical scroll #78 and a fee other things 🎊. It is likely the best choice until PdfViewer supports those feature because you don't need an extra app.

Unfortunately I know no way to open PDFs in Vanadium from Files. Only files downloaded with Vanadium seem to be supported.

@rusty-snake Vanadium's built-in PDF Viewer has been disabled in the latest release and we plan to add a toggle outside of chrome://flags for enabling it later. It's not nearly as secure as our PDF Viewer and it wasn't intended that it would be enabled by default.

Out of interest, is there much more insecurity beyond "its a Browser app" and has NETWORK.

It's a memory unsafe PDF implementation with lots of regular vulnerabilities.
