Invitation: Consultation on the Global Environmental Data Strategy (GEDS)

We are pleased to invite your organization to participate in an upcoming consultation for Impact Initiative 8, focused on the development of the United Nations Environment Programme’s Global Environmental Data Strategy (GEDS).

These consultations offer an informal platform for collaborative discussions on GEDS, bringing together stakeholders to share expertise and perspectives. We would be honored to have your insights in shaping this critical strategy under Chatham House rules.

Consultation Details:

Date: 1,5 hours consultation in February 2025. Please select a convenient date and register via this here.

Audience: Experts in data and environment.

The consultation will cover the five foundational pillars of GEDS:

  • Improve Data Governance

  • Enhance Data Quality and Provenance

  • Promote Data Interoperability

  • Ensure Inclusive Data Access and Affordability

  • Facilitate Capacity Building

We encourage you to share this invitation and registration link with colleagues in your organization who are engaged in these areas.
