Description
I was adding tasks to my existing Habitica account when I began receiving repeated “An unexpected error occurred” messages. After attempting to add another task, the app stopped functioning correctly.
Since then, I have been experiencing the following behavior:
On desktop browsers, the site shows an immediate red “unexpected error” banner and sometimes an “Error: Server Error – The server encountered a temporary error and could not complete your request.”
Clearing cookies, cache, site data, and IndexedDB did not resolve the issue.
The issue occurs across multiple browsers (Chrome and Edge).
In Chrome incognito, I am able to enter my credentials, but after login I am prompted to “establish a username to get started,” even though this is an existing account with a username and data.
Attempting to proceed from that screen results in the page freezing and returning to the login screen.
I was also experiencing errors on the mobile app earlier, before switching to desktop, but I have not yet re-tested mobile since the desktop issues escalated.
This issue began immediately after adding tasks and appears to be related to account data loading or task processing rather than browser or device configuration.
Please let me know if my account data needs to be repaired so I can regain normal access.
