What problem does this feature solve?

User can search from list provided by the backend based on business logic, helps with autocomplete

What does the proposed API look like?

I am using the excel spreadsheet like style with vue-easytable, i want to show a dropdown fetched from an API as the user is typing in real time how do i achieve this
