Saving responses in workspace files in dev container

Regarding this issue, #1374 , what are the best workaround others have found?

The best workaround I found so far was to save it to the extensions local file system then drag the file to the appropriate directory in the workspace.

Is there something even easier I am overlooking?

Other workarounds I tried were the httpyac extension, but I didn't like how it forgot variables between requests and required more boilerplate for simple rest api test calls.
