Add external link to coathor's website in publication index.md

Dear community,
I would appreciate some help. Is there a way to link the coauthor's name in the publication's index.md with his/her own website in the Hugo Academic Theme? In the file ./content/publication/preprint/index.md, we have the following example preamble:

> title: "An example preprint / working paper"
> authors:
> - admin
>  - coauthor's name
> date: "2019-04-07T00:00:00Z"
> doi: ""

I've tried the usual markdown syntax to hyperlinks [the name of the coauthor](https://link-url-here.org), but the deploy fails. I apologize if this question has already been answered before, I couldn't find the solution. Many thanks in advance!

Have you seen the docs and tried the 'links' option?

Hi Geo! Yes, I've checked the [documentation] (https://docs.hugoblox.com/reference/markdown/#links) of Hugo and the links section. Is that what you're mentioning? I'm sorry, but I am failing.

- [Robert Ford](www.google.com)
