Micaela and Maya mapped the TDF constructs to the BCIO. During the Behavioural Science meeting on 27 April 2026, we reviewed several uncertainties and agreed to raise this specific issue.
We suggest that the TDF construct “professional confidence” (an individual’s belief in their repertoire of skills and their ability to apply these skills to specific tasks) may require a more precise representation in BCIO. At present, it is mapped only to “self-efficacy belief” (a belief about one’s capability to organise and execute a process or achieve an outcome).
We propose creating a more specific child class, “professional self-efficacy belief,” under “self-efficacy belief.” A possible definition is: a self-efficacy belief regarding one’s ability to organise and execute work-related processes or achieve work-related outcomes.
