Modern desktop in linux and Wayland don't have screensaver protocol. Maybe they neglected it. For now we don't have that thing and maybe we needed something to render a screensaver. For now we don't have a toolkit for that. Though we have the hydepanel which is agnostic to hyde. Let's try to ask @rubiin who maintains it. @0pLuS0 what's your monitor btw? |

Hi @kRHYME7 Well, to be honest, I've never used screen savers in Windows or Linux, I've always just let the screen blank after 15 mins. I have an MSI Optix G273QPF https://us.msi.com/Monitor/Optix-G273QPF/Specification It's an IPS Panel, I'm not worried about screen burn in, but for all my geeking pc years, it's always been my understanding that if you're not using the screen, having the pixels moving is good, for supposedly also helping to keep them from burnout/dying, getting dead pixels too. Anyhow I'd love to just have the clock moving around, ya know, us Geeks need to make our toys cool... LOL But Wayland and Nvidia, LOL, letting the screen blank after X amount of mins, I tried that in HyDE and my desktop keeps locking up, so I disabled everything, except the screen lock. Don't mean to go off topic here, but if anyone is having problems when you let the screen blank, or using the screen lock, suspend, etc., and then it's not coming back, or it's locking up, this is working good for me. THANKS |

Hi,
Sorry if this is all upstream questions, I've seriously spent several hours looking around online. Supposedly the clock can move around like a screen saver, but I can't figure it out.
Is it possible to have the lock screen date/time move around like a screen saver?
I hope this is possible, as I'd like to have this work as a screen save, with movement, it's always been my understanding, something simple like this helps to keep the pixels working, which is suppose to be a good thing.
THANKS
