How do you set up a time-dependent system?

Hi All,
I am trying to set up a time-dependent system where we have a batch reactor which is heated and cooled in time.

Starting from say room temperature we need to heat it until the activation energy is reached and thus the exothermic reaction starts. This process will take many hours. After a completed reaction the unit should be cooled.

The issue I have I cannot find an example which talks through taking your CSTR model, for example, and making it time dependent.

Any help is greatly appreciated :)

I don't think any example exists for the CSTR, but a simple example for PID control of a steam tank exists. See also this more complex example for control of a solid oxide cell flowsheet.

Neither of these examples are for batch systems, however. The IDAES ControlVolume classes are not, at present, well-suited for batch reactors---if the inlet and outlet flowrates are zero or near-zero, many equations become degenerate.
