What's the difference between "override" and "append" in parameter "--override_extrinsics" ?

'override' means that DAS will remove the camera motion of the original video; for example, you can take advantage of this parameter to keep the camera in your original video static. 'append' means that all camera movements will be attached to the original video

The input video, which represents a dynamic scene, has its own camera motion. For example, the video of a man is walking in a room, has a moved camera. So the observed point cloud is actually moved in the world coordinate. The "override" mode means that user can observe the moved point cloud in a fixed camera motion which is independent with the video camera.
