Using GearLever app on linux, there's a feature that allows to set a github url https://mijorus.it/posts/gearlever/update-url-info/ so that the appimage updates itself automatically. However, it requires that the .appimage file is available to download directly in the assets section of the releases. (more info on the link I just pasted above)
Would it be possible to publish the .appimage file with every new release?
