Documenting the working status of Medley features

It would be useful to give a high level overview of the working status of Medley's major subsystems and facilities. This would help set the expectations of new users on what features they read about in the documentation and literature are likely to work.

In practice such an overview could be a new section of the Software page of the project site with a few paragraphs describing what works, what doesn't, and what's experimental.

I listened to the discussion, and I have to confess I don't have a clear idea of what this bit of documentation would say at what level of granularity, who is the target audience, and how it would be maintained. The "working status" is subject to change as we update Medley.

I'm sympathetic to the need but I worry about whether we are making a commitment to maintain.
Is there some way to derive the material you would want from the Issues and PRs or recent PRs?

I was thinking of something very coarse grained like this (the wodring is just an example):

The core Medley environment, window system, and tools such as the Lisp and text editors work, as well as the main applications and subsystems like NoteCards, Rooms, and LOOPS. Functionality that depends on hardware features and peripherals of Xerox workstations such as microcode, serial and parallel ports, and color graphics boards is no longer support. We are restoring the functionality of the XNS and PUP network stacks, currently experimental and partially working. The TCP/IP stack is missing and we may restore it at a later time.
