+We came to this wine bar before the symphony, in a very pre-symphony wine-drinking mood.
+
+Come for the wines, not the vegan foods. It's mostly a tinned fish place, with some other tinned things. Our pickled veg plate was almost entirely pickled carrot. Nothing wrong with that, but I'm not going to recommend for you to come here for that. Good for snacks to go with wine though.

+You can imagine my SHOCK when an Indian friend of mine stopped complaining and genuinely recommended a place to get Indian friend in San Francisco.

+We left this place heavy after having ordered to much, and returned within a week.
+
+Vegan stuff is clearly shown on the online menu, but make sure you check with them on the day. They're new and sometimes varying the preparation. But they understand veganism well and will warn you about things and help. The couple running the place are incredibly nice. 
+
+Not shown, but the **dosa** is the way to go here. They've got nice churneys with it. I'd get the **Andhra Kaara Dosa** which has an extra chutney coating the dosa. I would honestly try to get a dosa without the potato masala so you can get more stuff. The **chana masala** (chickpea curry) is incredibly good, but they said it's vegan some days and not other days. It's super creamy. The **dal** and **korma** were also tasty. The gobi 65 was a little greasy and fast-foody, good for the right occasion but not our favorite there.

+Mediocre hot dog place alert! You can get a field roast sausage cooked and put on a bun with some toppings for way too much money!

+They really didn't get the whole vegan thing despite being able to sub in a vegan hot dog, there's a lot of ingredients you have to take off almost all the options.

+Very fancy expensive Iranian wine bar. Very fortunately, my work was paying. 
+
+There were some nice things, but all in all not super flavorful and I wouldn't go back on my dime for the price. The bread that came with it was this cracker stuff that was nice, but got a bit monotinous as it came with every dish. Highlights were the marinated olives and the chickpea fesenjan, which was very sweet so get it to share. 
+
+Lots of Georgian and Armenian wines were good, I drank a lot!

+Good sandwich! Come here for a good sandwich. They've only got one vegan sandwich, it's the **avo smash**, it's got a good amount of red sauce and pickles and crunchy things. Too much avo for me to truly love it but you'll probably like it. But like $20 including tip and tax, so an expensive good sandwich.

+They share a space with Third Wheel Coffee, which also has the best coffee in the area. Check it out!

+One of those ice cream places with lines out the block. High expectations. Low results. They have a couple rotating vegan flavors and sorbets. I got the black forest flavor... sounded promising. No good! Way better vegan ice cream is available kinda nearby at [Garden Creamery](/places/garden-creamery) for a similar line experience.

+My friends love this place, and so I am almost compelled to write a good review. But dear readers, I will not cave so easily, I will stay true to my judgement. I will bear the wrath and indignation of my friends.

+This is a greasy Sichuan place, a style I regularly enjoy. We got the dry pot, the local specialty, and some explosive chilli tofu. I think the dry pot suffers from the same thing hot pot does, that it just makes a bunch of ingredients taste exactly the same. I just think there's way better executed versions of this.
+
+Go to [Spices 3](/places/spices-3) in Oakland, it's a real step above! I hope it's the same family, that would imply the existence of a Spices 2 that we are yet to discover.
